Facebook changes it’s homepage… Again

Facebook is throwing away its “new” homepage for a twitter like live one. The news is slightly surprising as Facebook just a while back revamped the whole look of the homepage.
This time Facebook is taking  a new generation approach, the twitter generation. The new Facebook mirrors Twitter in it’s stream section of the homepage where your friend’s updates will appear as they post them, rather then the old 10-15 minutes. Here’s a look:

It’s great how the people at Facebook are constantly trying to put out something new for its users. The move on a twitter like feed has been expected as Facebook tried to buy Twitter a while back. twitter1

However, are they really trying to pull people away from Twitter to go on Facebook? If that’s the case it’s not going to happen. The reason why? The people on Twitter are a lot different than those on Facebook. Almost every friend I know has a Facebook, but do they have a Twitter account? Not really…

A regular person who really isn’t involved on the internet  isn’t going to use Twitter. They’ll use Facebook for the social chatting with friends and coworkers but that’s the limit. Twitter was never meant to replace Facebook, and Facebook sure isn’t going to replace Twitter.
